The sincerity with which he states his goal sends chills down my spine: "We’d like to win the Cup this year, and we all believe that. Anything less than that will be unsatisfactory."

I've never been this excited for a hockey season. I literally cannot think of a more potent formula than one we have brewing for impending NHL domination:

Young players coming into their own AT THE CORE
Veteran experience SUPPLEMENTING
Loads and loads of depth
Great character and leadership
Being overlooked by the media and fans
Underrated defense
Underrated goalie on the revival upswing
Weak surrounding division, conference up for grabs
One helluva coach
A group of winners
Number 8

And now is where I reverse jinx everything by saying: Caps history dictates that we'll be struck by a plethora of injuries and be down to the bare bones of the roster by November.

Thanks for letting me ramble on a Friday.
